When deciding which material to use for outdoor drapery hardware applications, please consider the following questions:
- Will the parts ever get direct sunlight? (Direct beam of sunlight.) If so, approximately how many hours per day?
- Will the parts ever get direct rain water? What about indirect rain water?
- In what city/state will the parts be installed? If near the coast, do you ever receive salty air/rain at your location?
- Do you have a preference for finish/color?
Stainless steel items are typically recommended for outdoor drapery hardware as they will not corrode (rust) in wet or salty air environments. Additionally, the Brushed Stainless finish works great in direct sunlight, while our other finishes may lose their shine over the years if receiving significant amounts of direct sunlight.
